About Marsha

Marsha Niemeijer is an artist, director, and writer. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts with a concentration in the Literary Arts from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). There, and next door at Brown University, Marsha explored her multi-disciplinary artistic vision through painting, sculpting, writing, filmmaking, and theatre-making. She found a way to bring all her passions for storytelling -through visual arts, writing, and her maniacal levels of attention to detail - in directing.

Marsha often references Shakespeare in her work, and is particularly interested in the inner lives of well-known characters and adapting established stories into ones that offer a fresh, original, and often personal, perspective.

Marsha spent the first 15 years of her life on sets and stages. The Troupe is her return to the Thai arts and entertainment industry - though this time, not on stage or in front of the camera, but rather behind it.

Marsha is the translator/writer, director, and lead artist of A Midsummer Night's Dream (2024). She is also the founder of the Troupe. She will be in London at the Globe Theatre in February 2025, to further explore her passions of being a director and a student of Shakespeare.
